Katherine O'Hara-Krebs
June 29, 2020

This is "April" from writer Martin Melville, a regular Writers Meeting attendee who sees writing as ministry.

April

More brutal than

January

Flowers fooled by

Precocious warmth

Atrophied azaleas

Terrorized tulips

Hesitant hyacinths

All victims of

Frost

And snow

And cold

But the pansies perspicacious

Persist

They laugh and flourish

In the crack between

stones
